Cleaning carpets is one of the top things you need to do periodically to keep your home or office pristine. Everyone has their own way of getting this done as well as the time between each cleaning. But there are some common carpet cleaning myths which you might believe are true. In this article, we [...] are going to explore the most commonly believed myths about carpet cleaning. Let’s start. Popular Carpet Cleaning Myths Vacuuming Too Often Wears Out the Carpet Aside from the quarterly carpet cleaning we all do, vacuum cleaning is the most popular way of keeping carpets clean. But a lot of people are in doubt about this. Some even believe that excess vacuuming can wear out the carpet. This is based on carpet technology and weaving systems used in previous machines. But for new age carpets like the one in your home, vacuuming is no danger at all. In fact, a regular vacuuming routine will keep your carpets quite perfect. One-Year-Old Carpets Don’t Need Cleaning This is one of those myths which any professional carpet cleaning company owner will laugh their head off at. The truth is that even the highest-quality carpets with eco-friendly and smart weaves will require cleaning. Generally speaking, waiting to clean your carpet until they actually look dirty means the damage is already done. You should not do this under any circumstance. Consult a reliable carpet cleaning expert to know how to best maintain your carpets with regular cleaning. Baking Soda Works Great for Carpet Cleaning It’s a common practice among homeowners with carpets to sprinkle baking soda on them. There is some benefit from this as baking soda can absorb some harmful agents in your carpet. However, this is not the panacea or cure-all you might think. Irrespective of what you sprinkle on your carpet, it needs a thorough and deep cleaning on a periodic basis. Without that, all your day-to-day cleaning efforts would be futile. Professional Carpet Cleaning is Unnecessary Carpet cleaning, when done by professionals, is on a whole different level to anything you can accomplish at home. Commercially available carpet cleaning products are simply not good enough to give your carpets the long life you want. All carpets should be cleaned periodically by professionals irrespective of the foot traffic they are subjected to. This is important because every step of the cleaning process needs professional oversight. From applying the cleaning agents in the right volume to getting all the water out post-cleaning. But don’t take anyone’s word for it. Hire reputed carpet cleaners and notice the difference yourself. Should You Get Professional Carpet Cleaning Services? Common myth is that you can get your carpets professionally cleaned and they will last forever. In reality, vacuuming alone will not clean your carpets well, and they should be cleaned every six months to a year, depending on how often they are used.

One of the most common carpet cleaning myths is that hot water will damage your carpet. Hot water will not damage your carpet, but it can remove some of the dirt and debris that is trapped in the fibers. Some people think that you can only clean your carpets with chemicals, others think that steam cleaning is the only way to go. Another common myth is that you need to use a lot of detergent to clean your carpets. This is not true, as using too much detergent can actually leave behind residue that will attract more dirt and debris. Appreciate it! Quite a lot of information.
